The Patek Philippe 5135 Gondolo Calendario

Patek Philippe continues the tradition of combining art deco design with the watch makers art of complications in it's Ref. 5135 Gondolo Calendario. It derives it's name from the "Chronometro Gondolo" watches that were manufactured in the 1930s by Patek Philippe for the renowned Brazilian retailer Gondolo & Labouriau. The Patek Ref. 5135 has a tonneau or barrel shaped case which underscores the ongoing popularity of the Art Deco style.

The Patek Philippe Ref. 5135 which is part of the Complicated Collection, features a Annual Calendar patented by Patek in 1996. The Annual Calendar or Calendario as it is called here, displays day, date, month, moon phases and a.m./p.m. indicators. The watch has a center sweep second hand.

The Caliber 324 S QA LU 24H self-winding movement can be viewed through a sapphire crystal watch back. This movement is meticulously finished to meet the specifications of the coveted Geneva Seal, the hallmark of quality for mechanical timepieces. This is a beautiful movement with the enlarged, high rigidity Gyromax wheel and bridges that are intricately decorated with Geneva striping and a 21Kt gold rotor embellished with a Calatrava cross, is comprised of 356 individual parts.

The Patek Philippe Gondolo Calendario Ref. 5135G (pictured above) is 18Kt white gold and comes on a hand stitched alligator strap. The Ref. 5135 is also offered in yellow or rose gold as well as platinum.
