Basel World 2010: The new Rolex Submariner Ref. 116610LV in all steel is featured here with a ceramic green bezel and green dial. The case size is 40mm and is of-course water proof to 300 meters. The new sub is powered by a self-winding Caliber 3135 certified chronometer movement. The Submariner from Rolex continues to lead all others as the quintessential tool watch. 2.5 Million Dollar Patek Philippe Chronograph to be Auctioned at Christies

Yes that right 2.5 million dollars for this unique and historically important Patek Philippe perpetual calendar chronograph. The watch will go on auction next month at Christies in Geneva-Four Seasons Hotel des Bergues.

The Patek Philippe Ref. 1527 perpetual calendar chronograph wristwatch with moon phases and a tonneau-shaped case was manufactured in 1943. Until recently very little was known about this equisite timepiece. Not only was it missing a model number but it was also missing any relatives from Patek Philippe's 1940s production. During recent months of in depth research and relentless study it was determined that the watch was indeed a Ref. 1527and is only one of two ever made.

Basel World 2010: Patek Philippe 5140R Perpetual Calendar sports new dial

Basel World 2010: The new Patek Philippe Ref. 5140R in rose gold features a brown sunburst dial with gold applied hour markers. The watch comes on a dark brown hand stitched alligator strap with a fold-over clasp. The Ref. 5140R is part of Patek's Grand Complication series of watches. This timepiece showcases a Perpetual Calendar mechanism which displays the day,date, leap year, am/pm indicator and phases of the moon. Patek Philippe created and patented the Perpetual calendar in 1889.

Basel world 2010- The Patek Philippe Ref.5960P Annual calendar chronograph in platinum is now being offered with a matt blue sunburst dial and gold applied hour markers. This version of the Ref. 5960P will also have a hand stitched blue alligator strap and fold-over clasp.

Basel World 2010- Patek Philippe converges on chronographs
